Lately, Korea is obsessed with healthy eating,
and surprisingly, cucumbers are the star of the show.
You’ll see them in everything
kimbap, hangover ramen, perilla oil noodles,
and now, even sandwiches

Among these trends,
I finally tried the Subway Korea limited-edition
“Cucumber Sandwich.”
It was such a hit when it first launched that
they brought it back,
and I had to see what the fuss was about.

Subway Korea limmited
Cucumber Sandwich Menu

New items like the Jambon sandwich
and my usual go-to, the Beef Steak sandwich,
were calling my name —
but this time, I stayed focused and ordered
the Cucumber Sandwich
These are the options available:
- Cucumber Only:
Fresh cucumbers with ranch sauce
and black pepper /
3,200 KRW / 320 kcal - Cucumber Tuna:
Cucumber, tuna, ranch sauce,
and black pepper /
5,200 KRW / 430 kcal - Cucumber Egg Slice:
Cucumber, egg, ranch sauce,
and black pepper /
4,400 KRW / 390 kcal
All items are only available in 15cm size,
and the recipe cannot be customized.
What I Ordered At Subway Korea
I wanted to taste the pure,
unadulterated flavor of the Cucumber Only sandwich
Subway Korea’s potato wedges are surprisingly good
thicker and crispier than what you’d
get at the major burger chains
so I ordered the sandwich as a set
with potato wedges and corn soup.
Since the sandwich is so cheap,
the whole set felt like a real bargain

Pro-Tip for Travelers:
Most Korean Subway kiosks have an
‘English’ button on the top right corner.
If you are stuck, look for the ‘Veggie’ category first.
Don’t be afraid to ask the staff;
they are usually very helpful with tourists!
The Cucumber Only Sandwich

It really is just cucumbers,
ranch sauce, and black pepper.
The Cucumber Only is also a good option
for vegetarians looking for a quick,
affordable bite in Seoul.
I sometimes eat a similar combination at home
with grain bread and Greek yogurt,
but the ranch sauce here adds
a much sharper, creamier flavor.
They really pile on the cucumbers,
which makes it crisp and fresh,
but since there isn’t much else to it,
I finished it much faster than a standard sandwich
The Cucumber Tuna Sandwich

My friend ordered the Cucumber Tuna.
This one actually felt like a proper, hearty meal.
The combination of tuna and cucumber
is a classic, and it’s hard to get wrong.
It was tasty, but I wouldn’t recommend this
if you are trying to watch your calories.
The tuna has a high caloric count,
and the ranch sauce is one of the
higher-calorie options on the Subway menu.
Corn Soup & Potato Wedges
I balanced out the “light” cucumber sandwich
by splurging on the corn soup and potato wedges.
The soup pairs really well with the sandwich
if you feel like it’s a bit too dry.
As for the wedges, in my opinion,
they are way better than the ones
at Burger King or McDonald’s.
They are a must-order whenever you come to Subway.
Final Verdict
With the weather getting warmer,
I’m really gravitating toward fresh,
crunchy veggies like cucumbers.
The sandwich is light, clean, and
extremely affordable, which I loved.
In Korea, this is available for a limited time only.
People seem to love it, so there is a chance
it could become a permanent fixture.
But even if it’s gone by the time you visit,
you can still replicate the experience!
How to Order Your Own Cucumber Sandwich
(The Secret Menu Hack)
If the official menu is no longer available,
you can ask for this at any Subway location:

Action
1. Select the standard Veggie Delight sandwich (5,100 KRW)
2. Choose White Bread
3. Ask for all vegetables to be removed, except for the cucumber and cabbage
4. Select Ranch sauce
Even if the limited-time promotion ends,
you can order this custom combo
at any Subway location in Korea.
It’s slightly more expensive than the official version,
but it’s the best way to get that fresh,
crunchy experience anytime.
